Blue Cross Ministry

This ministry is started of Simon Peter Nanayakkara, who after his salvation 18 years ago started to help people. Simon was before his salvation a drug addict, he used heroin in over ten years, but when he meet Jesus his life got totally transformed. Together with Jesus he got the strength to get free from his heroin addiction.
After his salvation he started together with his family to help people in his village, Poddala outside Galle in south of Sri Lanka. Simon and his family helped pour people and helped them with their needs; at that time gave they out bicycles, and they gave wheelchairs and other equipment to handicaps. Under this time brought Simon many people to Christ, especially drugaddicters. He witnessed to them about Jesus and helped them to get free from their addiction, today many of them are serving God.

In many years we continued to help people in different sorts of ways, then we decided to start an organization of the ministry we done under past years. Second of April 2005 started we an organization and gave it the name Blue cross Ministry. At the same day we opened our new build prayer house. It is a house that Christian people can use for prayer and for spending time with God. Every morning we also gather there for praying together for the day. When we were building up the prayer house and also many other times when we do ministry, we meet hard situations. We are a Christian ministry, and this area is a bit hard to Christian people because they are minority in the Sri Lankan society. But when we have meet hard times from the society and when we will meet it in the future, God is always with us and through his grace we come out stronger on the other side. After we had gone through this hard situation and started the organization Blue cross Ministry we did continue to do different sort of ministry to help people. Today many unchristian people also appreciate and are happy that we do this ministry and help people.
Fifth of January 2008 got Amila Nanayakkara the leadership of Blue Cross Ministry, and he is now leading this ministry.
